Know More About Flat, Low Profile Air Pallets with Rear Push Handle Controls
December 1, 2011Pneumatically powered (compressed air) , air pallets are typically a perfect selection for indoor places such as factories and warehouses. Working on a smooth, level, non-porous floor surface, they can move loads away from a loading dock to their intended area very quickly. Air pallets could move and lift loads up to 4500kgs with very little human effort. For loads beyond 4500kgs, Rotair Systems offers custom-built air pallets to match your specifications. Options include the fitting of integral guide wheels to aid with steering, and drive wheels to ensure of propulsion. Like their aluminium platform transporter counterparts, they’re also reasonably low profile and have a height of around 2 inches with deflated air bearings. Air pallets are available with either A-type or B-type air bearings, based on the envisioned use, type of flooring, and type of load they will be transporting. A-type air bearings are the conventional standard fit, and when they’re energised, they move the load away from the floring surface “just enough” to float the load which can then be moved off to its intended location. This type of set up requires the load to be placed upon the air pallet. When air pallets set up includes B-type air bearings, the properties of air pallets alter slightly. B-type air bearings have a lift height that makes them whisk a load or pallet away from its base before moving it laterally to its location. This type of lift is available for various situations when loads are not able to be put on the air pallet by other methods. In addition to the higher lift of the B-type air bearings, they also are a little more robust and can often work on flooring that seem rougher than the typical smooth concrete type of surface. But, they do make use of about the twice the amount of compressed air as the A-type air bearings do. However, in particular situations the B-type are truly required for the job and are well worth the extra compressed air that is used.
